Like everyone in New Parks, I am shocked and saddened by the recent tragic events in New Parks. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this act of violence that has led to a young man losing his life.
Leicestershire Police acted swiftly and effectively. I have been updated throughout the investigation and as you will know, two people have now been charged with Codie Bambrick’s murder. My thanks go to everyone who has helped in this case.
New Parks is a community, one I am proud to support. While I know that you will come together to support each other, please seek additional help if you need it. Many of the great projects created through People Zones will provide a source of comfort in the coming days and weeks.
But I know that one victim is one too many. While significant progress has been made in addressing knife crime, we will not stop until the job is done and knife crime is resigned to history.
