I have been asked about crimes in the Castle Donington area, I can report back that Beat 43 [which covers Castle Donington] has seen the following reported in February:
Since the start of February to date -
Week 1
2 x Reported residential burglaries
2 x Theft from motor vehicles - Both thefts of diesel from HGV's
Week 2
1 x Burglary of a shed
2 x Theft from motor vehicles - One a theft of diesel and the other theft of tools from a work van
Week 3 (To date)
1 x Unit burglary - tools stolen.
In terms of reported crime overall year to date there has been a 12.3% reduction.
Burglary offences - down from 81 to 53 - A reduction of 34.6%, (Residential burglaries are down from 42 to 25 offences - a reduction of 40.5%) Theft of motor vehicles - Increase of one offence from 43 to 44 Theft from motor vehicles - Down from 139 to112 offence - a reduction of 19.4%
Leicestershire Police will continue to review all crime offences of this nature and will deploy resources to target offenders and reassure communities.
