During the 2019 General Election Campaign I was delighted to spend time in Loughborough constituency campaigning for Cllr Jane Hunt, who was standing to take over from Nicky Morgan, who had taken the seat from Labout 2010. Each time I went to Loughborough it chucked it down with rain. On Polling Day itself I got soaked to the skin twice - but fortunately had changes of clothing in the boot of my car. Jane won the seat with a majority of over 7,000 - a cracking 51.2%.
