On Sunday afternoon I visited the Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurudwara in Leicester, and had a thoroughly fascinating time.
My visit began in the Durbar Hall where a visting group of three men was reciting a dramatic poem recounting an incident from Sikh history - and they were certainly throwing themselves into it. Having watched the performance, I moved on to a meeting with the Committee, where we discussed many issues about crime, policing and social welfare of concern to the Sikh community in Leicester. I was then able to chat to a large number of those attending the gurdwara in the Langar, while enjoying the hospitality of the gurdwara. A thoroughly enjoyable visit during which I learned a lot.
