On Sunday I was honoured to attend a meeting (during Hospice Care Week) at the Guru Amar Das Gurdwara in Leicester to support local charities. I was pleased to be able to speak in support of the LOROS charity and Rainbow Hospice, in support of Anjana Vaja, Ajmer Kaur Mahal and Gurpreet Santini. I was pleased to be able to stay for a performance of Kirtan (Sikh hymns) organised by the Gurdwara.
As is traditional at a Sikh Gurdwara, food (which is blessed langar) and drink were available outside of the main room where I was able to meet with those attending and chat informally about community matters. My thanks must go to the main president of the Gurdwara, Mr Darshan Singh Johal, and the General Secretary, Mr Sukhdev Singh Sangha, who kindly arranged things for me.
