I support the E2 organisation from my crime prevention budget, so i thought I'd go along to their Christmas Lunch for staff and volunteers to show my appreciation for all that they do. It was a fantastic event, with everyone joining in with the spirit of Christmas - and the mince pies. Community Tutor Leah took the opportunity to update me on the latest news - see the video.
E2 provides a range of sports activities as part of its core offer for young people in the Beaumont Leys and Abbey Wards of Leicester. We know that keeping fit and active is essential for young people to reduce the impact of health issues that are all too common in our communities for example our areas have a significantly higher prevalence in regards to: ‘Health Challenges - These areas contain the population with the greatest levels of illness and consequently, those with the greatest health challenges and risky behaviours now and in the past’
From the very beginning, the Urban Garden Project has focused on nurturing the next generation of children to become more knowledgeable and skilled in health, nutrition, and nature-inspired areas. Our pilot project features a garden space where children can observe, interact with, and learn from nature. Our information boards, complete with QR codes, allow young minds to explore local species, habitats, and environmental issues.
