The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Police and Crime Commissioner has received several complaints from the public over vehicles racing each other at high speeds along the A453 and surrounding areas.
In addition, it has been reported that the same individuals also cause nuisance in the village with anti-social behaviour, inconsiderate driving and abusive language and behaviour.
In response, the PCC has called a Public Meeting in Kegworth Village Hall on 9 October and is inviting villagers to attend to have their say on the issue.
He will be joined by neighbourhood policing officers and local partners to discuss the joint solutions being implemented to robustly tackle anti-social drivers and speeding and reassure the public.
Mr Matthews said: "Everyone has a right to feel safe and I have made it clear since I was elected, I take a zero-tolerance approach to ASB.
"My office has received several complaints from residents about so-called boy racers in Kegworth and I take their concerns very seriously. This meeting will give local people the chance to explain the impact this behaviour is having on their lives and what more they feel could be done to deter further problems. It will also enable the force to update residents on the multiagency action already underway to crackdown on these offenders.
"I am working hard to increase confidence and trust in the work of the police to tackle the issues that matter most to our communities. Listening to residents is really important to me, and I would urge all those affected by these issues to take up this opportunity to use their voice and help us make life better for everybody."
The meeting will take place between 6pm and 7.30pm on 9 October at Kegworth Village Hall, Nottingham Road, Kegworth, DE74 2FH.
