Living Without Abuse Charity - LESS THAN A MONTH TO LWA STRICTLY!
With less than a month to go the pressure is mounting for the 5 couples competing for the Living Without Abuse (LWA) Strictly Come Dancing Glitterball Trophy!
Very much like that other Strictly down south there has been a fair share of drama! Last week experienced dancer Lauren had to drop out for personal reasons as did local celeb Lez…..leaving Jess and Paul without partners. They got together over the weekend, and we also welcomed new couple Molly and Mark into the mix. With only 4 weeks to go can these 2 couples perform a miracle and wow the judges at the Glitterball Finale?
Our 5 local brave novices are being put through their paces by 5 experienced dancers hoping to lift the coveted LWA Glitterball Trophy on 16th November at Cedars Academy, Birstall. Will their Cha-cha, Paso Doble, Jive, Rhumba or Rock n Roll wow the judges and step them through to local stardom?!
We have a wonderful line up:
• Rupert, with whom many are more familiar with as our County Police & Crime Commissioner, is partnered with Sharon, new to the experienced dancers team
• Mum of 2 Reeta, recovering from serious illness and relishing the challenge, is partnered with veteran dancer of 18 years, Michael
• Gosia, more comfortable as a director at Charnwood Campus Science, Innovation and Technology Park, is partnered with Steve who is no stranger to lifting the Glitterball Trophy having won twice in the past
• Paul, an enthusiastic dad dancer and software sales VP, is partnered with Jess, back for her 3rd time with many dance medals to her name
• Mark, for whom learning to dance is top of his bucket list, is delighted to be partnered with veteran LWA Strictly dancer Molly – who tells us this will be her last Strictly and is keen to lift that trophy one more time
It promises to be a fabulous night with show dances, super comperes, formidable judging panel, bar, refreshments and an amazing raffle supported by a host of local businesses.
Tickets priced just £10.00 each are available here: https://register.enthuse.com/ps/event/LWA2024StrictlyGlitterballFinale
Emily Corrigan, Head of Fundraising: “A firm favourite in the local calendar Strictly is one of our top fundraising events of the year. The couples are practicing furiously and every year we’re stunned by the high quality of performances on the night. Not only does it bring in much needed funds, it’s a lot of fun. With show dances, bar, raffle and a few jokes along the way it is always a fantastic night. Wishing all couples the best of luck – once again it promises to be a closely fought contest.”
