A couple of days ago I was in Anstey, where I met up with Cllr Deborah Taylor who represents the area on Charnwood Council. I was particularly interested in how she has been helping to increase footfall in the high street area. One of the key drivers of crime prevention is having people moving around in an area. Crooks are much less likely to undertake burglaries, muggings or other crimes if they likely to be seen doing the act. So crime prevention very often involves encouraging the public to walk down streets and generally be moving around their community - as Deborah explains in this video.
