We need better policing in Leicestershire and Leicester to clampdown on crime. We need more police on our streets, we need the police to be more integrated to our communities and we need police with the training and equipment to do the job.
But we will get better policing only if we vote for it. That means voting for a Police and Crime Commissioner who will set the budget and strategy for our hardworking police to ensure that they can give the service that you want.
The elections for Leicestershire County Council, and for the Police and Crime Commissioner in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland are due to take place on Thursday 6 May this year.
We do not yet know the circumstances under which the PCC and County Council elections will be held. If you have any concerns about voting in person at a polling station due to concerns about covid, it would make sense to sign up for a postal vote if you have not already done so.
